![]() It turns out that running SFCFix twice on my laptop I was able to update to the latest version of Windows 10-1607. Re: Unable to update Windows 10 beyond version 10240 I have attached the results of running SFCFix and the CBS folder. I only use the laptop when I travel and could be a candidate to reinstall the OS, however the desktop is my business computer with a lot of software installed and configured that I can't afford to rebuild. I don't want to totally reinstall the OS from scratch if possible.Microsoft tech support was unable to help.I've tried updating using an ISO file, but that has failed.Attempts to upgrade to a newer Win 10 version result in error: Error 0xC1900101 - 0x20017 "The installation failed in the safe_os phase with an error during boot operation".Updates other than updating the OS version seem to proceed successfully.I cannot remember whether the computers were upgraded to Win 10 and then migrated to SSD or migrated to SSD and then upgraded to Win 10. Both computers used Paragon Migrate OS to SSD software to move the operating system from the hard drive to the SSD.The laptop had its hard drive replaced with a Samsung SSD.Both computers originally came with Windows 8.1 and were upgraded to Windows 10.The 2 computers are a Dell XPS 8700 desktop and an Asus X551MAV laptop. ![]() Here are some facts that I think are relevant: I have 2 computers that have the same problem-neither will update to a newer Win 10 version than 10240. ![]()
